Pneumonia is contagious

Over the weekend Colton started running high fevers again. He's ok during the day and seems to deteriorate at night. For a couple days, we just knew he was getting better.

Carter's wheezing and congestion is at it's worse. My poor baby looks miserable. The nights are restless for him (for all of us). He is so fussy and continues to run a low grade fever.

Maw Maw Liz came back over Monday night to help with the boys again and I'm glad she did. Both boys went to the doctor this afternoon and were sent for chest x-rays. The doctor said Carter's lungs sounded worse and Colton's still could sound better.

Pneumonia!!!!!
Both boys have pneumonia. Carter's x-ray was worse than his brother's. Colton's x-ray actually showed it to still be present but dissipating. What I'm I going to do with these two?

We did learn that pneumonia is contagious. Germs such viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites usually cause pneumonia. It usually starts when you breathe the germs into your lungs. You may be more likely to get the disease after having a cold or upper respiratory infection. These illnesses make it hard for your lungs to fight infection, so it is easier to get. So, Carter most likely got it from Colton since they sleep together.

They are each taking 2 & 3 Rx's plus breathing treatments every 4 hours and motrin as needed for their fevers. My kitchen counter looks like a pharmacy. Rx bottles and syringes are taking over.
