Peace and Quiet

We decided to drive to Conroe and do some shopping. We always let the boys watch a movie while were in the car but we always end up having to talk over the volume of the movie and we can't listen to the radio. Not anymore!!!! We bought both boys a set of headphones and we drove back from Conroe to Beaumont with peace and quiet. Why didn't we do this sooner?

My little Piggy hogging the drink from MacDonalds. The cup is as big as he and he drank most of it.

Alvin and the Chipmunks

Today was a special day for us. Jerry and I treated Colton's class to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. Everyone loaded the school bus and headed to HollyWood Theatre at ParkDale mall. It was such a cute movie. The kids were laughing and at the end of the movie they were singing and dancing to the music. We all really enjoyed the movie and it was such a memorable day for Jerry and I.

Have I told you?

Have I told you how much I love my new job. It's AWESOME! I've been here 3 weeks now and lovin it more and more! Not to many people can say that but I'm definitely blessed and thankful to say so! My partner (the other assistant) is Jennifer and she is the sweetest most sincere person you'll ever meet (besides Aunt Sue) and she is so pleasant to work with. We are a great team and the doctors are great as well. I really look forward to work everyday.

Driveway Camping

We took the RV and stayed the weekend in Texas City. It was like camping except we were in NaNa's driveway. The boys had so much fun playing with some of their new toys and Colton got to practice shooting his new BB gun. Of course, PawPaw took them for rides on his scooter. Colton actually drives it pretty good and takes Carter for rides (but it makes me nervous).

Here's Colton shooting at a target that PawPaw set up for him. After while, he hit the target almost every time. He really loves his guns, just like his daddy!

Here's PawPaw helping Carter shoot at the target. We're always saying "monkey see, monkey do". What ever Colton says, does or has....Carter wants to do it too. He just loves his Big Brother.

Colton is so proud of his new gun and says he can't wait to use his new pocket knife (which I'm definitely nervous about). Honestly, Colton takes after his daddy's love for the outdoors and his way around that stuff seems so natural. I'm so proud of my little man!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve. We started out at MawMaw Liz and PawPaw Larry's house for our traditional get together. We had lots of goodies to snack on and family to visit with. When we finished there we headed over to Cousin Drake and Rene's house to celebrate with the Romero side of the family. The boys loved visiting with everyone and we continued our festive activities over at Aunt Sue's house(the boy's favorite of course). After a wonderful time with family, we reminded the boys that it was time for bed so Santa could make his stop at our place. We headed home and made sure to leave Santa some cookies and milk by the fire place and off to bed we all went.

Looks like Santa really enjoyed those cookies and milk.

One of the gifts Santa left for Carter was a Nintendo Dog. He barks and wags his tail when you pet him. Cater loved it.

Colton's favorite two gifts Santa left was another BB gun and his 1st very own pocket knife.

Here's Carter hanging onto his new dog as we drove to NaNa Hope and PawPaw Raymond's to do Christmas with them.

My 1st Work Christmas Party

Today was our Christmas Party. We had it at the Brentwood Country Club in Beaumont. I made sure to take a picture of everyone from work so I could share with you all the great new people I work with.

This is Dr.Carmack (right) with my partner, Jennifer. She is the nicest person ever. Even though we've only worked together for a very short period of time, I already know what a sincere and kind person she is. Dr. Carmack is also very nice and is so good with his patients. I really love working with these two.

This is Savanah (left) and Carla (right). They are Dr. Harvey's assistants. These two girls are so outgoing and really compliment Dr. Harvey. They really know how to make their patients know they're special.

This is Heather (right) and she is our surgery scheduler. In her office she has a picture of Super Woman taped on her wall and that's just what she is. Her office is constantly busy. Christina (left) works the front desk making appointments and checking patients in and out.

This is Darla (left) and she is the office manager. She is super sweet and does a great job running the office. Carla (middle) is actually an LVN. I forgot to mention she's a hugger. My first day she greeted me with a great big hug. Dr. Harvey (right) is Awesome! She is so kind but knows how to stand her ground. She doesn't let those patients push her around or take advantage of her. I love her for that.

This is Aimee (left) and she is our "go to girl". She does insurance verification, orders supplies, filing, sterilizing instruments and what ever we need help with. She really keeps us running smooth. Danielle (right) is Dr.Bruyn's 2nd Assistant. She's a firecracker!  She definitely keeps everyone on their toes.

This is Linda (left) and Hilda (right). Hilda is Dr.Bruyn's nurse but is currently out on medical leave. Linda use to work for Dr.Bruyn full time but is now retired and only fills in when needed. She's working until Hilda returns after the first of the year.

This is Esmeralda (right) and she does our billing. They use to out source their billing and just brought it back in house. "Ez" has been so busy entering all of our accounts back into the system and staying on top of our current billing.

This is Dr. Bruyn. From what everyone has told me, every year at the Christmas party he raps a song about the office. When he initially came out he was wearing a baggy sweat suit, dark sun glasses and a Santa hat. I have to say that I was pretty impressed with "his ryhme".  This is him just acting goofy again. His sense of humor reminds me alot of Dr. MacTavish (the doctor I use to work for in Houston).

This is DeeAnn (right) and she works the front desk with Christina. Ms. Shirley (Darla's mom, left) helps out with the overflow of the billing. These two are very sweet ladies.

Bye Bye Paci

So, you've heard about me forgetting my camera, my batteries dying in the camera, dropping and breaking my camera....well. I didn't have very many "Christmas Pictures" of the boys to post because I lost the memory card to my camera. Yep. Another disgusting moment for me. I had taken some WONDERFUL and AWESOME Christmas pictures of the boys and I couldn't wait to share them with you. As I sat down to the computer to update my blog, I got my camera out and my memory card was gone!!!! I swear it made me cry. I started to back track all my actions trying to figure out where my memory card with the best pictures I've ever taken of the boys was. I finally figured that it had fallen out of my wallet while shopping. Ugh......

Here's a few pictures that I happen to save to the computer before that tragic loss.

Carter still knows how to do his own breathing treatments.

This will be the last pictures of Carter with a pacifier. Bye Bye Paci. Carter's a big boy now. He has done so well without it, you'd never know he use to have to have it.

First day and Big Night

Tonight was a big night for the boys. It was their school Christmas Play. They did so good. Carter's class were littel angels. They wore a white shirt with angel wings (except Carter, he pulled his off). I was only able to get a couple of pictures of Carter's performance since they had the kids sitting on the stage and they only did one song.

See Cartie....the one with the big blue Pacifier in his mouth? (atleast he wasn't crying)

Colton's class sang Frosty the Snowman and they had the cutest costume. Colton was also selected to participate in the Finale and was selected to be one of the sheppards. He really out performed himself and we have it all on video. His singing definitely could be heard over ALL the other children. Not only was he the loudest but he was a beat ahead of everyone else. My sweety was just precious! I so proud of both of my wonderful little boys!!!!!

My little snowman. Poor thing was sweating his hiney off wearing this costume and standing on stage with all those hot lights shining down.

Today was my first day of work. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone is really nice and I was just so excited to be back to work. I only worked a half day since they're only open a half day on Friday's (another reason it's great). I'm really looking forward to a full day on Monday. I need to go get me some new scrubs for my new job. I'll update you on the new job.

Night at Aunt Sue's

Jerry is in San Antonio for work and the boys and I decided to go hang out with Aunt Sue and Uncle Paul.  We had lots of fun.  We ate pizza, played jumpin' monkeys and watched the boy's favorite movie, The Sandlot.  Of course Aunt Sue let the boys take a peppermint bubble bath which always ends up with water and soap suds every where.  As always, we had a blast and we just love hanging out at Aunt Sue's.

Hope you like

As you can see, my blog has a few changes.  I've been trying to take advantage of the last few weeks of being unemployed by giving our blog a "make over". I hope everyone continues to follow and please be patient with my updates once I return to work.

I got the job !!!

My interview went great. I went back today to meet with the Physicians and Dr.Carmack, the one I'll be working with. They were extremely nice and I definitely look forward to starting my new job on December 14th.

I'm so excited because I'll get to do all the stuff I love to do working in Podiatry. I'll be numbing up toes for ingrown toenail procedures, taking x-rays, removing and putting on casts, bandage changes, suture removal...and so much more fun stuff. I'm sure this all sounds silly but I really love this speciality.

People don't realize how much their feet impact their daily lives. When your feet hurt, it can really slow you down and affect your lifestyle. Something as simple as cutting your toenails can become a challenge and very difficult for the elderly. It's a pleasure knowing I can provide this care to them and when they walk out they feel relief. Well, I'll keep you posted on how the new job goes.

Job Interview

I have a job interview today. I am so nervous and excited! It's for a group of podiatrists in Beaumont. Although I have recently been working in Family Practice, Podiatry has always been my passion (and no...I don't have a foot fetish).

Prayer Request

They Hunt, I shop

The boys are at school and I'm "home" packing for our traveling weekend. Colton and Jerry are headed back to the deer lease and Carter and I are headed back to Nana's to continue our Christmas shopping.

Opening weekend was last week and Colton and Jerry didn't have much luck. Colton was running a fever and had a cough but went anyway. Jerry did a good job keeping him medicated but Colton's cough scarred most of the deer away. Hopefully they'll have better luck this weekend. Colton is feeling much better and promises to continue taking his prescriptions if he can go hunting with dad.

Carter and I went to Texas City and started our Christmas shopping with Nana. We also got to visit with Alexis. She was down visiting from Corpus Christi. She has really grown and is talking so much. We also got to visit with Uncle Ray, Aunt Tera and Railynn. The kids were really happy to see each other and had lots of fun playing together.

Well, I'm off to find some bargains.

Chedders

We decided to meet up for dinner over at Chedders. Aunt Sue and Uncle Paul, Aunt Renette, Chad & Shaye, PawPaw and Uncle "J" all joined us.

Aunt Sue and Colton of course.

Carter was being really fussy so Uncle "J" was doing a good job of keeping him occupied with his cell phone.

Let's just say, I'll do anything to keep these boys quiet.

Even PawPaw Larry took his turn in trying to keep Carter quiet. I'm not sure what has gotten in to him but he is constantly wanting only me to hold him and when I don't or can't he throws a screaming fit. Colton was never like this. It's driving me crazing (and I'm sure everyone else who has to listen to him scream).

We don't get to see Chad and Shaye very much so we were excited to have them join us for dinner too. They're expecting their first baby in April and it's a girl!
.
Congratulations !
.
We are so happy for you two.

2nd day of School

Today Colton went on his first field trip and school bus ride. He was so excited! His class went to the pumpkin patch and he brought home 2 pumpkins to decorate for show and tell tomorrow. Thankfully the weather was beautiful and added to the wonderful experience he had.

Carter's day was ok. He cried a little more today. His teacher said that Colton's class was walking down the hallway to lunch when Carter saw him and started crying because he wanted to go with him. Then later that afternoon Carter was looking out the window and spotted Colton playing outside and he started to cry again. We had to ask Colton to try and avoid running into his brother so that Carter's teachers wouldn't have such a hard time with him.

Over all the boys are doing really well and we absolutely love their new school. Tomorrow they have Chapel and I'm interested to see how that goes. I'll let you know soon.

First day of New School

The boys started Redeemer Lutheran Children's Christian School today. They did awesome and really enjoyed their day. Colton already loves his two teachers and even made the comment that he wasn't ready to come home. Carter cried when we initially dropped him off but by the time we got back down the hall way, he had stopped crying and was fitting right in.

I know you're wondering where their "first day of school" pictures are but I accidentally dropped my camera last night and now it's not working. I felt just sick and was so mad at myself. Hopefully I can get it repaired soon and keep you posted with new pictures.

The day my camera broke

This was the last picture I took right before I dropped my camera and broke it. I was so mad at myself :(

My sweet little boy is growing up so fast! He's just so beautiful!!!
